As is well known, interventional chemotherapy is one of the important methods for cancer treatment. However, chemotherapy drugs not only kill cancer cells but also damage normal tissue cells, causing complications of varying degrees. Therefore, during chemotherapy, drug dosage must be carefully controlled, which inevitably weakens the therapeutic effect against cancer cells.

The emergence of injecting drugs and drug-loaded microspheres through microcatheters inserted via arterial catheters has partially addressed some of these shortcomings. However, microcatheters and drug-carrying microspheres increase treatment costs, making the price relatively expensive and becoming a barrier for many patients in choosing this treatment.

Our hospital’s interventional team is composed of China’s first generation of cancer interventional therapy experts. In over 30 years of interventional medical practice, they creatively proposed Trans Arterial Pump Irrigation Chemotherapy (TAPIC) through arterial catheter placement with continuous pump infusion, applying this concept and technique to the treatment of various solid tumors, achieving a novel interventional chemotherapy model with higher efficacy, fewer side effects, and more affordable pricing.

The application of Trans Arterial Pump Irrigation Chemotherapy (TAPIC) has achieved satisfactory clinical outcomes. Compared with traditional interventional methods, this therapy shows better efficacy for almost all solid tumors, including common cancers such as lung cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, gallbladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian and cervical cancers, nasopharyngeal and head and neck tumors, lymphoma, and soft tissue sarcomas of the limbs.
